Seeing your favorite stars and TV shows bag awards is one of the most beautiful scenes for a fan, and as voting officially opened last June 4 for Yahoo! OMG! Awards, fan girls and boys gathered around their computers and cellphones to vote the best of the bests.
The three-year-old event closed the curtains for voting and rolled down their purple carpet last July 19 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena to reveal the newest set of celebrities and programs who dominated the online and text polls of the local Yahoo! search engine.
With the theme “Stars rock, fans rule”, the Yahoo! OMG Awards night was dominated by Kapamilya and Kapuso stars.

Kapamilya stars Coco Martin and Angel Locsin were named Actor and Actress of the Year respectively for the second time while primetime favorites Enrique Gil and Kathryn Bernardo bagged this year’s Breakthrough Actor and Actress award respectively.

It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda and one of Tuhog's lead stars, Eugene Domingo retained their trophies as Comedian and Comedienne of the Year respectively.
Ryzza Mae Dizon, GMA 7’s child star wonder, popularly known as “Aling Maliit”, topped the votes for the Child Star of the Year Award. Meanwhile, Eat Bulaga, the country’s longest running show was awarded the newly included category, Noontime Show of the Year.
Multimedia performer and The Voice of the Philippines,' host Toni Gonzaga was this year’s Favorite Female TV Host alongside Eat Bulaga’s very own Bossing Vic Sotto as her male counterpart winner.
The partnership of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim was still the unbeatable Love team of the Year following the success of their recent primetime soap opera “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” which was also named Best Teleserye.
The second highest grossing film in the history of Philippine cinema, “It Takes a Man and A Woman” starring Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz and Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo received the Movie of the Year award.
Another new category was the Best News and Public Affairs Show which was given to ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol.
This year’s Male and Female Performer Award winners Elmo Magalona and Julie Anne San Jose enjoyed the victory with the JuliElmo Pexers, the love team’s supporters, as the group bested four other nominees as the Fan Club of the Year.
The Yahoo! OMG! Awards also gave credits to loyal aficionados who support stars and celebrities of the music, film and television industry.
