Not this time, Rayray.

Far Eastern University’s point guard Terrence Romeo will be hailed as the new Most Valuable Player in the UAAP Season 76 Men’s Basketball Tournament, ending the two-year reign of National University’s Bobby Ray Parks.

The FEU guard tallied a total of 75.2857 statistical points (SPs) in this season’s MVP race.

Romeo ended the eliminations round with an average of 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

Parks, who was the back-to-back MVP for Seasons 74 and 75, settled for third best with 73.8571 SPs while University of the East’s Charles Mammie actually came in second place with 75 SPs but was disqualified from receiving any individual awards due to his games suspensions earlier this season.

University of Santo Tomas’ Cameroonian Center Karim Abdul placed third in the MVP race, with 70.9286 SPs, averaging with 16.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game followed by Roi Sumang of UE with 64.0 SPs and an average of 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

Finishing in fifth place is NU’s Emmanuel Mbe, who garnered 63.5714 SPs and averaged 14.9 points and 11.2 rebounds.

Romeo, Parks, Abdul, Sumang and Mbe will most likely comprise this season’s Mythical Five.
Meanwhile, cellar-dweller University of The Philippines Fighting Maroons’ Kyles Lao led the Rookie of the Year race.

The awarding ceremony for this season’s top performing players will be held before the Game Two of the Season 76 Finals.
